Tim Drake’s NCR article Thousands Alive Thanks to Ads reminded me that sometimes the most effective way to reach out into the culture involves spending money in unlikely places.
VirtueMedia’s pro-life ad campaign aired for the first time this year (from September through November) on BET and MTV. As Drake shares,
During a five-week campaign between late September and early November, the commercials generated nearly 22,000 requests for help from abortion-vulnerable women. Organizers estimate that during that time at least 11,000 babies were saved from abortion.
Read the NCR article for more details. It’s really a pretty incredible story, and one the whole pro-life community would do well to take study. While it’s important to reach and encourage like-minded people to keep fighting for life (pretty much what I try to do here), we cannot forget to reach out to those in circumstances right now who are making life-and-death choices. VirtueMedia seems to have found a very effective way to do this, for what their website proclaims is “14 cents a life!”

Great post! I really enjoy reading your blog. Keep up the good work.
I’ve just started a new blog that will be highlighting the dangerous advances of the secular progressive movement (pro-gay “rights”, pro-abortion, anti-religious freedoms, etc). Unfortunately, most Christians still don’t know what’s going on out there and the mainstream media certainly isn’t covering it.
We’re looking to build a solid group of social conservatives who’ll frequent our site regularly and contribute to some good discussions. I hope you’ll check us out!
If you’ll add us to your blogroll we’ll gladly add you to ours. Just drop us a comment over at our blog so that we’ll know to add you. Our blog is called Religion and Morality.
Thanks!

I was very impressed with the results from Virtue Media as well. Take the truth to the people and the results are amazing!
